In the Great Gildersleeves episode I listened to tonight, the Gildy's nephew LeRoy was competing for the quarterback position for the Community Chest Football Game. LeRoy won the position and was going to be the starter. Then he found out that the other boy could not even walk two years earlier because of an illness and that he wanted to play quarterback in the game more than anything. So LeRoy stepped aside and let the other boy be quarterback. However, he did not tell Uncle Gildy the reason he quit the team so Gildy was very disappointed and angry with him.
