Recently I asked if folks could name all of the various types of bugs seen or mentioned in Mayberry. Here are the correct answers so far:
Fly Aphid Centipede Spider Unknown bugs Opie served to baby birds "Aunt Bee" is not a bug. Bee does not count unless someone comes up with a reference to an actual bee, and yes there is at least one in the series. Spelling or quilting bees do not count either. Someone mentioned fireflies, and while the folks in Mayberry would almost certainly have enjoyed watching or catching those, I can't think of a time they were specifically mentioned on the show. Somebody help me out on that one. There are still at least ten more kinds of bugs. Hint: in some cases the word "bug" is actually spoken.
