Hi folks, Marshfield, Missouri has an event this coming weekend called the Cherry Blossom Festival. On Saturday morning there's a panel called Memories of Mayberry, and I have been asked to serve as moderator. I told them up front that while I do know a lot about The Andy Griffith Show, I don't know the first thing about being a moderator, so we'll see how it goes. It might be a gas at that.
Anyway, the guests this year are Morgan Brittany, who is best known for her long-running role on Dallas, but as a child star she appeared on many shows of the 1960s including one episode of TAGS, Opie's First Love. In those days she was known as Suzanne Cupito. The other guest this year is Maggie Peterson, who of course played Charlene Darling-Wash. They usually try to get stars who have a connection to Missouri; guests from past years have included Rodney Dillard and Betty Lynn (both of whom are originally from Missouri). The main focus will be an audience Q&A session, so if anybody has any questions they'd like to ask either Morgan or Maggie, speak right up and I'll try to work those in. If anybody is within driving distance of Marshfield, MO, please consider coming to this event. There are all sorts of other activities too, such as a dinner with special guest Laura Bush and her two daughters, and a celebration of the 75th anniversary of Gone with the Wind featuring people involved with the making of the film.
