Don't get me wrong, and I do love "The Fishing Hole" as Andy's song is
officially named, but I have a hard time believing it is the #1 TV theme of all
time. First, you would have to know what they mean by #1 TV theme of all
time. Is it the theme that more people can recognize and name, or is it the
theme that people love the most? There were a lot of TV themes that made the
Billboard Top 100 Chart, in fact a few went to #1 on the chart including
"Theme From Friends", "Theme From Dukes of Hazzard", and "Welcome Back Kotter".
As far as the TV theme that more people can recognize, I would be willing
to bet there would be very few people over the age of 21 who could not tell you
"that's the Lone Ranger song" when you play the William Tell Overture. And
who among us could forget "Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale" or
"Here's the story of a lovely lady". Orville Hendricks - Mount Pilot Butter and
