I too have always been slightly bothered by the way the episode about the 
church organ resolved. Mr. Robinson is selling his organ because he needs to 
raise money to have a new barn built.  So Clara makes goo-goo eyes at Mr. 
Robinson like a silly schoolgirl, and suddenly he doesn't care about the money 
or the barn anymore?  And why does nobody honor their pledge?  Don't the folks 
of Mayberry keep their word?

A much more satisfactory solution would have been for the men of the church to 
get together and BUILD the new barn.  Wouldn't that have been much more 
"Mayberry?"
