I too have always been slightly bothered by the way the episode about the church organ resolved. Mr. Robinson is selling his organ because he needs to raise money to have a new barn built. So Clara makes goo-goo eyes at Mr. Robinson like a silly schoolgirl, and suddenly he doesn't care about the money or the barn anymore? And why does nobody honor their pledge? Don't the folks of Mayberry keep their word?
A much more satisfactory solution would have been for the men of the church to get together and BUILD the new barn. Wouldn't that have been much more "Mayberry?"
