Something I wish they would have had in Mayberry was a good old fashioned root beer stand or food drive in of some sort. Back in the 50's and 60's just about every town had at least one root beer stand or Dairy Queen or some such place. Just think of all the great episodes that could have been built around that place. Cute car hops for Barney to trouble check for. Andy, Barney, Thelma Lou, and Helen, sitting in the car eating with their orders all mixed up, Howard having a crush on one of the car hops. All kinds of possibilities.
