Ken's question yesterday about a woman's yet brought to mind a routine that
Edgar Bergen used to do with his dummy Charlie McCarthy. Bergen would ask
Charlie "Is your father living yet"? To which Charlie would reply "No, not
yet". That always got a chuckle out of me. Why is it that the chuckles we
got out of Andy, Edgar Bergen, Ozzie Nelson, etc, are remembered so much more
than that stuff that passes for humor now a days? You keep all this modern
stuff, I'll live where I am the happiest.
