What a lovely way to spend the 4th of July. Quiet cookout with Andy and Barney on TAGS all day long. Such a treat. I am a huge fan of the black and white editions. What I noticed throughout the day long marathon is the nu mber of hats worn by the Mayberry folks and the WAY they were worn depending on the situation. Gomer, Goober and Ernest T's were mostly slouchy. Barney cocked his police hat according to the amt. of confidence he felt. Andy certainly didn't look comfortable when Malcolm was his chauffeur and had to wear his hat too. The church ladies, the government people and some bad guys all wore hats. Otis, the mayor all in hats..great stuff. Marie nurse Peggy p.s.
