Most everyone will remember the "David G. Mendelbright Memorial Horse Trough"
that Andy warned Mr. Darling not to dip his hat in.

A couple of days ago I was in a charming village in Tirol, Austria and I
noticed several horse troughs similar to the one in Mayberry, but they were
made of iron. I took a close look at the inscription on one, and it was
dedicated to a Paul Zeiller and dated 1658. There wasn't a horse in sight, but
if one had come by, I would've given him the right of way.
