I have it from a very reliable source that our famous Mr. Schwamp was actually born Melvin P. Shraffnaugle. He was the son pf an African missionary couple, so he was born in the deep dark jungles of Africa. He spent much of his childhood playing with little cannibal children as there were no other children to play with. However, one day when he was about ten years old he had a very "hair raising" experience which caused most of his hair to fall out. He was in a hot tub at the cannibal's home when suddenly he because very uneasy. Apparently his little cannibal friend's mother came up to the hot tub and dropped a couple of onions into it. Being one not to take any unnecessary risks, little Melvin jumped out of the tub and ran into the jungle. He wandered around for several days but managed to escape the cannibals, only to find himself in a village of head hunters. Fortunately little Melvin was also able to escape from the head hunter's village, but the two traumatic experiences frightened him so much that he lost his speech ability and was never able to speak after that.
