All the discussion about Biblical names in Mayberry brings to mind something else regarding the Bible that the men folk of Mayberry would really frown upon. I also doubt if Reverend Tucker would dare give a sermon about it.
The bible very explicitly talks about how the men folk should help out with the cooking. In fact an entire book of the Bible talks about how the husbands and fathers in families should make the coffee.
