Margaret>>> Yes and no. The first two years of MRFD were filmed at 40 Acres, the same lot used for TAGS. The set for Sam's house was west of the Mayberry Hotel and north of the railroad depot. Trained noticers may have spotted the upper portion of the hotel, which is visible from Sam's yard in some episodes. Sam's office was in what used to be the Grand (movie theater). But for the third season, MRFD was filmed on the Warner Brothers lot, and they did indeed use the same house that was used on The Waltons. This building was later moved to a different Warner Brothers property, known as the Warner Brothers Ranch.
