Nostalgia is a wonderful thing. Even many of the things that I thought were
difficult or unpleasant from childhood, I would give my bottom dollar to
experience again. One thing I can think of that I don't miss from childhood is
my Dad giving me and my two brothers our haircuts in the basement with what may
well have been the dullest pair of clippers known to man. I'm pretty sure they
pulled out more hair by the roots than they ever actually cut. We didn't have
a cat for Dad to practice on like Floyd did, so us boys had to do. Most of my
haircuts were home jobs until one time when I was 12 or 13 and Dad made a miss
lick and cut off half of one of my eyebrows. It was difficult to go to school
the next day, but in the long run, it was well worth it because I think from
then on we got store-bought haircuts. Small price to pay.

Brought a smile to my face just remembering that. Thanks, Ken!
