I think Thelma Lou and Ellie met in one of the last episodes of season 1 Thelma Lou went to Nurse Mary's with Barney on a double date. They had pizza and Barney played the bongos.
Barney & TL went with Andy and Nurse Peggy to the duck pond. She was with her cousin a lot ( the four met up at the diner for coffee) and I think she was the hostess when Andy had that one date with Lydia C. Whew! That's a lot of women Andy dated.
