While I was watching TAGS this morning, I got to thinking about all the
television comedies that were on with TAGS in the 60's. All of us devoted
television viewers know that the 60's were the golden age for television
comedy. Of course TAGS was the #1 of all of them.
But what I was thinking about was how many people appeared on Andy and then
later either starred or co-starred in one of the 60's comedies. I will give
you the most famous and easiest example: Buddy Ebsen played David Browne on
TAGS right before he starred on The Beverly Hillbillies.
How many other TAGS alumni can you think of who went on to star/co-star in a
60's comedy? People like Ken Berry who starred in F Troop before he appeared
in TAGS do not count. Also, let's not start counting the people on Mayberry
RFD, because that would be almost everyone in TAGS. I was amazed when I
found 19 comedy shows of the 60's that had TAGS alumni in starring/co-starring
roles.
