My favorite directions are in the last black/white episode, with Jerry Van Dyke
(Banjo Playing Deputy). When Andy gives him the job of crossing guard he walks
Jerry outside the court house and points off to his side saying, "Now, you go
down here to the corner of Haymore and Rockford." As all of us Mayberry Days
attendees know, only a couple houses from that intersection is where Andy
Griffith grew up. I get a warm and fuzzy feeling every time I see that episode
and hear Andy giving those directions.
