After church this past Sunday, my wife and I decided to have brunch at IHOP.
When the waitress came over to take our order I took the opportunity to create
a Mayberry Moment. In true Barney Fife fashion I claimed that I really wasn't
that hungry and proceeded to order two eggs over easy, 2 bacon strips, 2
sausage links, hash browns, a croissant with black berry topping and creme
filling, and a black coffee. Our waitress made a comment about me "not being
hungry" and laughed. I don't believe she knew that it was a Mayberry Moment,
but at least I made her laugh. When we recognize or create Mayberry Moments,
we create a laughter that connects all people to Mayberry.
