Oh, yes! When I was doing screen shots of that episode, I managed to get one
or two where you could see the face of the stunt double. It's clearly a man
(and not a very attractive one, either). You'll notice that every time Aunt
Bee got in the car to practice driving, she put on that big hat with the
scarf-thingy that covered the rest of her head and which she then tied under
her chin. That was obviously used to help disguise the fact that Frances
Bavier wasn't doing the driving and that it was actually a stunt double.
What's interesting is that Aunt Bee never again wore that hat to drive after
she got her license!
