In the opening scene of Jailbreak, Barney is reading a book entitled Penitentiary. In other episodes, he reads The Art of Judo and The Art of Unarmed Self-Defense (they are actually the same book with different words pasted on the cover).
In The Bazaar, Warren claims to have read all of the Perry Mason stories It took Edith Gibson three weeks to get through The Rise and Fall of the Roman Empire BTW folks, Romeo and Juliet is not a book, it is a PLAY. Why every list of "the world's greatest books" includes Romeo and Juliet and Hamlet is something I will never understand. But I digress. In The Manhunt, Andy says that when it comes to fishing, Izaak Walton "wrote the book." This is a reference to The Complete Angler, first published in 1653 and remarkably, still in print today.
