I continue to be amazed as to how often I come across a reference to TAGS in books I read. I am currently reading a mystery titled "The Readaholics and the Falcon Fiasco" by Laura DiSilverio. One of the characters is going to the police station in her small town for the first time. As she walks in she thinks, "I guess I'd expected something like Andy Griffith's office in Mayberry with a jail cell in one corner, but this was more like my doctor's office."
I had my 55th event for the summer today as I did my Mayberry presentation at an area nursing home. Folks enjoyed it so much as they all have watched TAGS for many years. This past week too there was a news article in our neighboring city's paper with the head lines "Grand Marshal Handcuffed before Parade". Story was about how I had arrested their police chief and had handcuffed her before the parade. Police chief was quoted as saying she did not know what she had done but Barney apparently thought he had a case, and she was laughing when she told the reporter it. It went on to say how much she enjoyed riding in my squad car. I actually won a first place trophy in the parade. This coming Saturday I will be doing my presentation for 160 former students from my High School. The school closed in 1962 and we have a get together every two years. I enjoy it so much and this year I will be the speaker. Then on Sunday we have another parade to do. We still have 15 more events to do this summer so we continue to spread the spirit of Mayberry all over this part of Wisconsin. -- Ken Anderson The Mayberry Guru 2906 May Street Eau Claire, Wisconsin 54701 www.themayberryguru.com www.mayberryreflections.com _______________________________________________ WBMUTBB mailing list [email protected] http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/
