Our summer events are coming to a close with just one more parade to do at
my ala mater University of Wisconsin Eau Claire Homecoming. On Saturday we
are taking the squad car about 100 miles east of here to a festival that is
set up for underprivileged children. We will hit event # 70 this weekend
and we have a few more to go.

Last weekend we did a parade in a small town about 50 miles from here. It
was a big parade with over 80 units. When I finished the parade a deputy
sheriff came up to me. He pointed at a Wisconsin State Trooper's Car and
he told me to follow him and activate my light and siren and pull him
over. So I followed the state trooper for a bout a block with siren going
and flight flashing. He pulled over. When he opened his window he was
laughing and he said, "I know, the deputy radioed me and told me I failed
to yield at that corner back there." What good sports they were. When I
left town he followed me for about five miles and finally passed me. When
he got along side of me he activated his siren and waved.

With all the bad publicity our dedicated police officers are getting now
days it is refreshing to see the lighter side of them.
