I have been enjoying watching older shows on some of the "oldies" TV stations and have been amused at what was acceptable dialogue in scripts. It brings to mind was said aloud and what was whispered, and what was "not proper in mixed company" in TAGS. One of the words was "naked". When Barney said he felt naked without his gun, it was embarrassing to Aunt Bee. But then later on, she tells Opie not to come to the table like a naked savage. I think too, "underwear" was just whispered.
Funny how times change. It is not uncommon anymore to hear certain "bombs" dropped on prime time TV. What happened to the days when a facial expression alone told more than graphic dialogue?
