Over the years we have talked about what makes The Andy Griffith Show
special and about how can we get others to watch these old black &
white episodes. What makes The Andy Griffith Show special to us and
what might make it special even to those who were born *years* after
TAGS went off the air in its original run?
Is it Barney, Floyd, Otis, Goober, Gomer, Aunt Bee, Opie, or one of
many wonderful characters that appeared in Mayberry that make it so
special? Was it Andy Taylor? Was it the town of Mayberry itself?
Was it, perhaps, all the above? I think it may be that we all had a
little bit of "Mayberry" in our lives when we were growing up. We may
have known an "Aunt Bee" or an "Ernest T. Bass" at some point in our
life. Maybe you've worked with "Goober," "Gomer," or "Floyd." Is it
because Mayberry reminds us a what "normal" might be?
You tell me what it is that keeps Mayberry alive and well in our
hearts and minds.
