I too have experienced interactions with complete strangers due to my Mayberry enthusiasm. My new little dog whom I named Thelma Lou (she's the second one to receive this honorarium) was never socialized by her former mama so I take her wherever I can. A few weeks ago, while at Home Depot, a greeter approached to admire her and when he asked me her name and I told him, he gleefully said he is a Maryberry fan too. We ended up "visiting" for a half-hour, during which somehow the word bingo came up and it turned out he had not been in several years and did not know about the one I usually go to. He ended up joining me there that evening and winning two games! He was so happy it warmed my heart! Whenever the subject of Mayberry rises, I meet the nicest folks and that really warms my heart big-tme!!!

Note to Thelma Lou (Janet): I think Betty Lynn will be plumb tickled upon receiving your card. Me, I just sent a conventional one, but my wishes were genuine; she's a treasure!

And Ken is his usual comedic self (Leonard Rush/Blush indeed). Did you all see his photo in the current issue of Woman's Day? When I got mine I was so proud. I call him our "Number One Ambassador Extraordinaire." We need to make him a chest banner like for beauty pageant winners, know what I mean?
