You can pretty much tune in to any station, any time, any day that's showing an
old western, whether it's a TV show episode or a movie, and you'll find John
Dehner (Colonel Harvey) playing a bad guy. Rarely have I seen him play a good
guy. Over the long holiday I stopped counting his appearances after seeing him
in about a dozen shows. My favorite is from an episode on Maverick. He and his
cohorts want to rob the town's bank, but Maverick gets wind of it and empties
the vault just before he breaks in and finds nothing. He informs the bank
manager who finds the vault full (Maverick never steals any of the money, he's
just playing havoc with the bank robbers). This scene plays out several times
until Dehner truly believes he's losing his mind. His facial expressions are
priceless. It's a hilarious episode. BTW - Maverick is returning to TV on Sat.
mornings at 10am so watch for the crazy elixir peddling man and other assorted
TAGS characters, and one Clint Eastwood - who calls him Mav-
 er-ack.
