It's I before E, except after C and E before E in Aunt Bee. I know, we always 
forget that rule.



Cutting slits in shoes allowed room for kids' toes as they grew.  Was practiced 
extensively during the depression when shoes weren't at the top of the priority 
list of things to buy with limited funds.
