I think Otis had the right idea about living in the Twilight Zone in the episode when Barney locked himself in the cell next to his. Otis came in and saw Barney in the cell and couldn't figure out who was in and who was out. He said "I'm out and you're in, or am I in and you're out? We're living in the Twilight Zone".
