Lots going on in the land of Mayberry here in Eau Claire. Just this week we are doing 3 parades and 4 car shows and I also did my Mayberry presentation at Senior Americans Day at the university here in Eau Claire. Next week we have 4 car shows and 1 parade. It is suppose to be in the 90's so I will not be walking in uniform. Still on crutches too so that does keep me less mobile. I also agreed yesterday to do my presentation at our area Veterans' Home, which is always a wonderful experience. We have done 17 events so far this summer and we are enjoying each and every one of them.
At a car show last week a young girl of about 12 came up to me and thanked me for my service and last night the same thing happened with a young boy. It is obvious that they do not understand what I am all about. So I usually just smile and thank them. If they come up my car then I take the time to explain things.
