Oh, how times have changed since the days of TAGS and Mayberry. I graduated from a small high school and it remains very small yet today. The school has had an armed Resource Officer for a few years now, and it was in our hometown paper this week that it has been decided that they would now be keeping an assault rifle at the school. It will be in a locked safe in the School Resource Officer's office and it would be accessible only through his fingerprint.
I got such a sick feeling in my stomach when I read that and I realized what the world has come to. Is it any wonder that so many of us are hanging on to the wonderful way of life that is portrayed on TAGS. And I am old enough to actually remember living during that period of time.
