Yes, "Ernest T" could look and sound "normal" as has been recorded by those on the Digest. He also did so many voices on The Flintstones. In the commentary of the "Anne Margrock" episode the commentator states that that particular voice was "Howie sounding like himself." He also mentions Mayberry.
A great talent in so many ways. Hal Smith of course was many voices on The Flintstones. Rance Howard was the writer of two Flintstones episodes: Goggles Paesano as well as the Slimey Rock Gang.
