Just saw our Mayberry dry cleaner, Fred Goss (a/k/a Fred Sherman), on a 1961 episode of "Bonanza", playing a hotel desk clerk. I didn't recognize him at first because he had different hair, a mustache, and was wearing a nice suit, but his voice was the giveaway. I looked up Fred Sherman on IMDB and sadly, found out that he suffered a stroke shortly after filming the "Wedding Bells for Aunt Bee" episode, and passed away a few years later at the too young age of 64.
