Well, guess I'm not much help - I can't recall offhand any other episode where the film might have been speeded up; I haven't noticed the possible "error" in the pie plate scene (I wonder how often the director would yell "Cut!" and re-shoot the scene as opposed to going with the actors improvising);and I still haven't seen that MeTV commercial combining TAGS and "The Waltons" - oh well.
