________________________________ Where I grew up, in any small town, northwest Florida, "Uptown" was for fancy shopping - high brow specialty dress/hat/shoes shops, law firms, reality, banking, hotels, etc. And "Downtown" meant the bars, the restaurants, the movie house, dime stores, motels. You knew exactly what someone meant when they said where they're going.
