When reading the WBMUTBB Digest, I always enjoy learning about differences
in food, language, customs, etc. between the region where I was born and
raised (and still live) - the Great Lakes area of the Northeast - and other
parts of our country.

I've noticed that during the first season or two of TAGS, Andy sometimes
says something like: "Well, I been studyin' on that, Barn", etc. It seems
that "studying" is used as a substitute for "thinking about". Is this
right?
Is that a Southern U.S. phrase? Is it still used, or an old term that's
not used much? Or is it something that Andy or the writers came up with?

Just curious.

Joe from G.I.
