Here is another spider reference I don't think anyone has mentioned. In the episode "Opie's Most Unforgettable Character" (I think) at the beginning Opie is at the courthouse as Andy is cleaning cell #2. Opie says something like, "If these bars could only talk." Andy responds, "Since Otis is doing his drinking in Mt. Pilot, about the only thing these bars now see is a couple of fat spiders."
