***********a nice breaded boneless pork chop with mustard, tomato, onion, chili, and cole slaw, on some good white bread. One of the tastiest - and sloppiest - sandwiches ever. JOE from G.I.
**************** Okay, Joe (and everyone else); what brand of chili? Personally, I like Bunker Hill Chili, no beans, when my sandwiches or hotdogs call for chili. Ron **Barn McLendon -------------- Years ago I had the pleasure of visiting with Charles Dowell after Snappy Lunch closed one Saturday and he told me a story about his chili. Back in the day, the phone company used to be right across Main Street and the ladies would come over for lunch. He got a few complaints about his chili and wanted to do something to make it better. He realized that a lot of leftover bacon, sausage and tenderloin from breakfast was going to waste once they started serving lunch, so he started grinding the leftover meat and adding it to the chili. The ladies at the phone company liked it so much, one of them actually came back after lunch one afternoon to let him know they really liked his new chili recipe. Reduced waste and happy customers - a winning combination! When I need a chili dog at home, I usually go with Hormel, mainly because it is usually available in the places I've lived. Nashville's own Vietti Chili is not bad and they have been longtime supporters of a favorite live music event.
