Today is the 60th Anniversary of our beloved Andy Griffith Show. 60 years ago today was a Monday night, and at 9:30 P.M. Eastern, 8:30 P.M. Central, Andy and Opie took their first walk to the fishing hole. In the beginning TAGS aired after "The Danny Thomas Show". TAGS finished their first season as the 4th most popular television show. I would say that is quite an accomplishment.
