Right after I got my driver’s license my mom gave me a $5 bill and told me to go to the gas station and get 5. Being the dutiful daughter, I followed her instructions to the cent…. Got home and she asked for her change. I said, “There was no change. You gave me $5. and you told me to get 5.” She meant 5 gallons when it was 34 cents a gallon. Today she would have to give me a $50 and she’d still get no change.
