Thanks Rudy. This is, for the most part, what I told the client. The problem arises from the fact that this guy "knows a little about making web sites". He heard something, somewhere, that has convinced him that *Java* (aka Javascript) will increase site load time, and will cause problems with search engines. I'm doing my best not to bang heads with him while also try to meet his expectations for the site in the best way I know how.
