Well, at least they had the decency to put [SPONSOR] in the subject.

If this is to be a new WDVL arrangement where they let companies post 
advertising to the list, it should be made a condition that they must put 
[SPONSOR] in the subject - that way those of us who aren't interested can 
just bin it.

I'm wondering if it's anything to do with this:

The URL above seems to be talking more about newletters from internet.com 
rather than discussion lists like ours, but it could have been extended.

That, or it could just have been a spammer.  Even if it was, at least it was 
a short message, with a quite clear subject indicating what it was, and it 
was relevant to the list.  OH MY GOD, did I just hear myself sticking up for 
a spammer then???!!!
