Perhaps because \n is not a PHP thing. That is what makes WDVL so
essential. :)
Meanwhile, I don't know how you read your PHP manuals but you could
download a very useful help file from the following website (it gives
your searchable help offline and has a quick-function reference feature
that is VERY useful if you make a shortcut to it on your desktop) --
