Ali,

That is fascinating. True there are only the two McLuhanisms I know 'The
medium is the message (now I am corrected to massage which makes perfect
sense for the point)', and 'people go through life looking out of the rear
window of their car' - which I can be just as guilty of! I hadn't thought
of either for ages till this correspondence. Thank you for the b&n link.
What is even worse on it is that they got one right and one wrong; that's
some sort of dedication.

My original reaction may have been partly to do with the fact that I
associated him with all the dumbing down that really rocketed in the late
sixties and onward. Your comparison fits that into place for me. Andy
would have been a good signwriter.

I could never make head nor tail of Net Objects, so my congratulations that
you even used it. I suppose I should have read the instructions. But
it is perfectly true, only by doing do you learn. Which comes to my next
step of protecting an e-book which is just about ready for selling (no, that
should be marketing - selling is only if people buy, marketing is offering).
But I don't want to get too deep into new learning. Hey -ho.

Joseph
