I would re-think Authorize.net, I have 6 of my e-commerce customers with them and we have nothing but problems - they seem to change settings a lot and this causes problems for real-time authorization. I would suggest CyberCash; I have 8 customers with them and it always seems to work flawlessly. Wells Fargo should be able accept any payment gateway; if they are promoting Authorize.net, then they most likely have a partnership with them and make something off of it or they possibly have ownership in their stock.
Any bank should be able to use almost any of the payment gateways out there. So, ask a few more questions and if they will limit you to just that one payment gateway - well, I would re-think using wells fargo ... I wouldn't limit myself or my clients.
