Is there a way to internally display the text box label in a text box that
does not otherwise hold data?

I'm displaying address fields. If the address info is there, the purpose of
the text box is clear. It's a street address, or a city, or a state or a
zip code. If the info isn't there, the purpose of the text boxes isn't
clear. If the data is missing, I'd like the text box to display a grayish
label like <City> or some such thing. I want it easily overwritten with the
black 'New York' or whatever if the user enters the information, and when
adding the record (or updating it) I don't want to capture the internal
label.

The form is collecting a lot of information and I want to limit the number
if labels on the page.

Can I do this?
