Hi JPs Boss,
So I searched to see what I could find about "Natural Language" and/or
igenet.com

One of the things I totally forgot about was Real Names - which is the exact
same model as igetnet.com - they could not make a go of it with 100% backing
of MSN (who has 95% of the browsers!!)

I found a couple of things about igetnet.com and real names. Nothing
positive except for their own PR piece... which was like reading why 4
blades on my razor is better than 3... here is a snip

"And you're guaranteed traffic to your web site with built-in targeting
capabilities so you can control and centeralize your advertising efforts"

... so does our traffic come with guns? ..and I have no idea what
"centeralize your advertising efforts" mean!... do we have to move to
central USA and market from there? I'm sure the guy who wrote it does not
know what he meant either...

In summary - since they do not have an exclusive with MSN Explorer where
their plug-in is installed/shipped with XP... I do not see how they will get
penetration . Sure Jon had an answer for that when I asked him.. but I'm a
little sceptical about their success. Further since they are relying on a
plug-in who is to stop www.jps-names.com from offering its own plug-in and
saturating the market....

Further I think they are fooling themselves thinking people do not want a
choice... not having a choice and the internet is like oil and water -
simply do not mix.

My recommendation is a pass.

Regards,
JP

PS - igetnet is looking to qualify us... they want to make sure we are
national (aren't we all national with FedEx, UPS, and postal!!!), and can
service our product... and so on. umm... they have only been in business
for 6 months... where Octave has been on the web from the early
beginnings... If you want me to handle Jon I will make him an offer of a
balloon payment in a year provided they meet certain criteria... so much
traffic.. and so on - basically my nice way of saying no
