Hi Gail, > I have never tried putting music on a site before
Path to the dark side, this is. > can anyone tell me if the following code will > work in all browser's! > <EMBED src="wish.mid" autostart=true loop=false > volume=50 hidden=true><NOEMBED><BGSOUND > src="wish.mid"></NOEMBED></embed> Looks OK to me, but I don't know much about this. I'd suggest downloading browsers you're interested in supporting from http://browsers.evolt.org/ and testing in them. Couple of caveats (one exclusive to MIDI files, one for all music on websites): If I were to visit this site when I'm at home, it would start playing your MIDI file using whatever settings are currently active on my audio equipment, which would mean it will sound nothing like you intend it to (I can go into further detail if you're unsure how MIDI works). If I were to visit this site when I'm at work, it would start playing your MIDI file over the top of whatever I'm listening to on my headphones, using the incredibly cheesy GM sounds provided by my naff soundcard. Either way, I'll be gone from your site and I won't ever come back. Why don't you set it to be off by default, and have a way for your users to turn it on if they want?
