I received a suspicious email from somebody saying he was an artist wanting his work displayed on our web site. He submitted code that puts an iframe with the source file as an html address (instead of an image tag).
Since I'm wary of iframes (security issues) and this guy's message seemed suspicious, I thought I'd check out the site referenced within the iframe. It looked like a scan of a strip from a newspaper and the artist signature on the image didn't match that of the mailer. When I shut the browser down, a pop-up asked if I wanted to install something called "power search." I clicked "cancel" and noticed three additional popups to close and cancel (my PanicWare popup destroyer didn't seem to suppress them). I'm going to assume that if it was anything worse ZoneAlarm would have flagged it. However, I did a virus scan and quick registry check (for any unrecognizable software key entries) to be safe. Should I do any additional cleaning to be safe?
