Good idea, shall try that with my friends computer as I am not set up for that, I did try but it all just got in a big mess. The thing is that if there is someone fiddling then nothing will work again. I suspect it is the host. I have been ticketing with them a lot.I found a past request change the file httpd.conf from AllowOverride None to AllowOveride AuthConfig but they said this was done. I have just sent the same request in case the server move undid this.
