AFAIK, that's about all you can do without modifying the source code of the 
browser itself. There may be something in IIS with ASP/ActiveX that does that for 
Interent Explorer but doubt it....

There's the rub. You don't have control over the loading as you do with an .swf 
so your loading screen would have to be faked with either DHTML or an 
animated gif timed to the lowest common denominator (dial-up?) timewise using 
the .gif in a <body onload()>. If you find something, I've got a page with a 
humungous table on it that would benefit from a solution...
