I've been trying to get a site redirected. The original site is here:
http://web-developers-corner.puterbug.com
It's about to become defunct as soon as I can ever get it redirected to here:
http://www.pixelresources.net
I'm new to .htaccess and have been trying some tutorials, and have tried every combination under the sun that I can think of to configure the Redirect "command" and it's not working. The original site still comes up! This is one variation of what I'm trying to use:
Redirect /web-developers-corner http://pixelresources.net/index.php
I'm thinking that because this is a sub-directory there might be a trick to doing this that I haven't found yet?
Anyone have an answer for this?
Also, will I need to create a page saying "we've moved" kinda thing? It's my understanding that if anyone tries to access http://web-developers-corner.puterbug.com after the redirect is in place (and WORKING!) that the site that automatically comes up SHOULD BE www.pixelresources.net correct? I mean people should not even know they're not where they intended to be except of course for the new look and name. Not supposed to be any stumbling blocks along the way if I'm understanding this correctly.
Also, anyone interested is more than welcome to sign on to www.pixelresources.net
Any aspiring authors out there are more than welcome to submit their stuff, and in fact I would like to find some regular contributing authors, so the door's open! YELLOW PAGES is for business listings if you want to add yours, be my guest.
Just another way to try to get our names out there! It's not done yet, still adding categories, links etc, so open to suggestions and site comments as well! Forum boards are fair game to anyone wishing to jump in and help get things started (butchya gotta promise to come back and visit alot) <g>
